Details on This Episode

Melinda Williamson was born and raised in Kansas, is of Native American descent, and had dreams of being an entrepreneur all the way back to when she was in the 4th grade and started a house cleaning business through hand drawing a flyer complete with her school picture taped on it and handing out photocopies around town. While her professional career was primarily based in academia doing research in grassland ecology, that entrepreneurial fire never left her. When an autoimmune disease diagnosis introduced her to kombucha, a whole new world opened up for Melinda, and Morning Light Kombucha was born. In making their about 60 flavors over the course of a year, Morning Light Kombucha partners with a variety of local farmers for sourcing ingredients, and the creativity and the stories behind the flavor combinations are fascinating!
